High quality gold plated REPLICA coin of a Marengo 20 Lire - Napoleon I (Italian states) 1814 coin. The surface of this coin is of a highly polished gold finish. As stated, this is a replica (copy) of the original coin. The coin is designed as a collectable item and has no financial exchange rate value. It is suitable for gifts and collectors since it's very close to the original one. The coin is gold plated. Not solid gold. As seen on the photos the quality is very good and it is like the original one. With the conquest of Milan and coronation to King of Italy (between 1805 and 1814), Napoleon I minted the coins in his image – the gold Marengo (20 lire) and the double Marengo (40 lire). The 20 Lire was minted between 1808 and 1814. The 1808 was issued in two mintages – the one with the thin edge and thick milling is considered very rare (the price can vary from one thousand to three thousand euros) and the final year issued (i.e. 1814) is even more rare. The second is traded with little more than the intrinsic value of the gold it contains.
